Family learning enables adult and children family members to learn together, so everyone benefits!
Learning could be anything, from studying for an exam to fun family activities, in various settings.
Research shows families who learn together can be empowered to be confident, lifelong learners who are likely to be happier, healthier and wealthier.
CALAT Family Learning offers a popular and successful programme of short, free family courses; mums, dads, grandparents and carers can enjoy learning together with their child, in a safe and fun environment.
Research has shown that families are our first and most important teachers, and that parental support is a key factor throughout a child’s education.
This is why CALAT Family Learning is here for all families in Croydon. We know all families are unique and inclusively recognises parents, grandparents, other relatives, chosen family and children as family members.
We work across the borough to connect with people, broadening horizons and celebrating their achievements!
Our free courses are taught by supportive, expert tutors. By listening to you, we empower everyone to build skills, support children’s learning and grow in confidence.
We offer a mix of Family Learning courses:
Courses start at different times throughout the year.
We usually work in partnership with schools, libraries, Family Hubs, children’s centres and community groups across the borough. Some workshops/courses are held in CALAT centres or online.
Below you’ll find details of the courses we are currently running and an enrolment form, fill this in and we’ll be in touch.
