Overview

Adult social care provides a wide range of services to support adults and older people. You can really make a difference to them and develop an exciting career that will both challenge and inspire you.

Support staff are in demand to work for:

  • health care assistants
  • care homes 
  • home care providers
  • mental health services
  • services for adults with learning and physical disabilities
  • services for those who are coming out of substance misuse
  • homelessness services

Qualifications are essential if you are interested in working in the adult social care sector and CALAT can give you a great start. We have a range of courses that will help you progress, whether you are just starting out in the care sector or aiming to improve your existing skills and job opportunities.

Our courses are delivered online with tutor support sessions.

For all course you will need to attend an Information and assessment session.

Courses

We offer:

  • Entry 3 certificate to progression in Care and Childcare

  • Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s setting

  • Level 1 Award in Mental Health Awareness

  • Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health

  • L2 Award in Mentoring

  • Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health

  • Level 2 Diploma in Care

  • Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care

To enrol on the Level 2 or Level 3 care diplomas you will need to have a current workplace or employment within the sector.

Dates and locations

There are multiple options on offer:

  • different venues across the borough, as well as online
  • course duration from 10 to 31 weeks
  • at times to suit you – day, evening and weekends
