Trailblazers: Helping you build confidence and get back into work

Who is the Trailblazers programme for?

Trailblazers is for anyone who has been out of work for a while, is living with health problems, or wants to plan what comes next in life.

We know it can be hard to take the first step, but you don’t have to do it alone.

Trailblazers gives you a safe and friendly place to rebuild your confidence, find your strengths and look towards the future. With help and support from our team, you’ll take small, meaningful steps towards new opportunities…at your own pace and in your own way.

You will need to meet the programme entry requirements. See below for details.

What happens on the programme?

When you join Trailblazers, you’ll get help from a friendly tutor who will take time to understand you, your goals, your needs and your ideas for the future.

Together, you’ll work on what’s most important to you. This could be improving your wellbeing, feeling more confident, learning new skills, or deciding what to do next.

As you grow, you might start to think about volunteering or returning to work. We’ll help you get ready; from practising interview skills to linking you with local job and training services.

Trailblazers gives you the support and tools to move forward. We’ll be with you every step of the way.

What will I learn on this programme?

On Trailblazers, you’ll learn practical skills and build the confidence to take your next step, whatever that might be.

You’ll learn how to believe in yourself, understand what motivates you, and plan your next move.

You can also:

  • Learn new skills and work towards qualifications
  • Get one-to-one help with interviews and job preparation
  • Join other CALAT courses to keep learning and progressing

Whether you want to find work, volunteer, or feel more confident about your future, Trailblazers will help you get there, in your own time and with support that’s right for you.

What can I expect after completing the programme?

By the end of Trailblazers, you’ll feel more confident and ready for what’s next.

You’ll have a clearer idea of what you want to do, and the motivation to take your next steps; whether that’s volunteering, finding work or joining another course.

Most of all, you’ll leave Trailblazers with the skills, confidence and belief to move forward and build the future you want.

Trailblazers isn’t just a programme; it’s the start of your next chapter!
