Teaching Assistant – Preparing to Work in Schools

Do you want to understand the skills and personal qualities necessary to gain employment in a school? This course will help you create an action plan for future learning and employment. You will learn about the roles and responsibilities of teaching assistants, how to develop and practice your communication, presentation and teamwork skills whilst identifying your strengths and areas for development. 

To be considered for a place on this course you must book and attend 1 pre course information / interview session at 9:30, CALAT Thornton Heath centre on the following date(s) and times: 

Tuesday, 5th May 2020 
Tuesday, 19th May 2020 
Tuesday, 2nd June 2020 
Tuesday, 16th June 2020 
Tuesday, 30th June 2020 
Tuesday, 7th July 2020 
Tuesday, 14th July 2020 

Unless you have GCSE English and maths (grades A-C / 9-5) or level 1 / 2 functional skills in both subjects (within 12 months of the session) you will need to take an online English and maths assessment held every Tuesday at 3:15pm – 5:15pm. 

To book an information assessment date, you will need to register on our website. 

All our courses are currently being delivered remotely.
