Open day events for Care, Early years and Teaching assistant courses

Are you the person who could make a real difference to the lives of others? Are you passionate, caring and inquisitive and able to cope with demands of a busy, exciting workplace? if the answer is yes, the Care, Early years and Teaching assistant team at CALAT want to meet you! 

To promote the wide range of courses we have on offer we are opening the doors at our Strand House, Thornton Heath centre from Wednesday 24 August to Friday 26 August, between 10 and 3pm. Feel free to come along, chat to our friendly team about where you want to to go and how CALAT can help you get there!

We spend time ensuring you are able to realise your ambitions and that you’ll know what the most effective practice is for whatever situation you find yourself in.

CALAT offers a range of qualifications designed to enable you to progress from L1 to L3. They are robust and ensure you leave with strong skills and knowledge to work with vulnerable community members.

E3 Certificate in Progression for Care and Childcare
18 weeks
9.30am – 2.30pm

This course will support you to understand the different sectors, and roles available in care and childcare. It will support you to understand communication, health and safety as well as interview skills.

L1 Introduction to Care
20-week
10.00 am -3.00pm

This course will enable you to develop an understanding in working in early years and the care sector. There are general principles that you will learn and cover from both areas.

L2 Diploma in Care
24 weeks
9.30 am -1.30pm

This course is for carers or support workers who are currently working within adult social care sector and want to gain this nationally recognised qualification.

You will develop and extend your practice and learn about the legislation that underpins the social care sector.

L3 Diploma in Care
24 weeks
9.30-1.30pm

This is a Level 3 qualification, and you will need to be motivated and committed to attend all sessions, word process, complete assignments and submit these on time. You need to be employed in the Care Sector for a minimum of 3 months and have a key worker role or be involved in person centred planning and updating Care Plans

L4 Diploma in Care – please inquire via email

CALAT offers a range of qualifications designed to develop essential skills and knowledge to enable effective and responsive work with young children and their families

E3 Certificate in Progression for Care and Childcare
18 week
9.30am – 2.30pm

This course will support you to understand the different sectors, and roles available in care and childcare. It will support you to understand communication, health and safety as well as interview skills.

L1 Introduction to Care
20-week
10.00 am -3.00pm

This course will enable you to develop an understanding in working in early years and the care sector. There are general principles that you will learn and cover from both areas.

L2 Diploma for Early Years Practitioner
24 weeks
9.30-3.30

This course is for applicants that have a current level 1 certificate, and who are currently working or volunteering in a Childcare setting and can provide a reference to confirm this. This course will enable you to work in a supervised role in an Early Years setting

L3 Diploma Early Years Educator
30 weeks
9.30-1.30pm 

This course requires applicants to have an existing childcare qualification at level 2 and in addition to have recent and substantial experience of at least six months of working in an Early Years Setting which can be evidenced

CALAT offers a range of qualifications Designed to support School Professionals in working effectively and responsively with children and young people.

E3 Certificate in Progression for Care and Childcare
18 weeks
9.30am – 2.30pm

This course will support you to understand the different sectors, and roles available in care and childcare. It will support you to understand communication, health and safety as well as interview skills.

L1 Award Preparing to Work in Schools
12 weeks
9-3pm

This course is for people that are interested in working in schools supporting teaching and learning and who do not have an existing qualification in this area.

L2 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
30 weeks
9.30-3pm

This is a course for learners who have a level 1 qualification in a relevant area. This course enables learners to expand their knowledge of supporting teaching and learning in schools

L3 Diploma Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning in Schools
30 weeks
10-2pm

This qualification is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people in schools. Candidates are required to be an experienced member of the school workforce who plans, implements and evaluates learning activities.
